Kinect for Xbox 360 released today

Old Xbox Kinect
Today sees the release of the Kinect, Microsoft's XBox 360 motion sensing games controller.

It tracks the movements of players then, replicates the movement with the on-screen avatar.
The control system is similar to the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation Move, but without the need for a physical controller.

Gameplay

Kinect games are played, by moving the body so they interact with objects on the  screen, you see sports players throw virtual Javelins, compete in hurdles by running and volleyballs jump on the ground and deflecting mirror columns by punching the air.
Keep fit games for the system, such as EA Sports active 2 and the biggest loser workout, scans the players body and takes measurements from training so that progresion can be recorded exactly.

Hand signals and voice commands

After ditching the traditional games console controller Kinect is capable of other functions, allowing users to navigate the menu  by simply moving your Hand.
The device allows the user to interact with the Xbox 360 using voice commands, so that the system can be enabled or disabled or instructed to download a game with just a few words.
Kinect's built in camera software features face detection and your profile automatically updates when you stand directly in Kinect's field of vision.

Games line-up

The United Kingdom sees 19 Kinect compatible games appear this month alone, with most now already available.
The line-up includes many keep fit and dance titles, like dance evolution.

Rates and compatibility

The Kinect device is priced at about £ 130, and comes with a bundle which includes Kinect adventure or is available containing the Kinect and Xbox 360 for £ 250.
Kinect is compatible with all Xbox 360's, although the newer 4 GB and 250 GB models have a dedicated port, and reduce the need for additional power supply which is required for older models.
